miles of the city. These islands are fed by the warm Leeuwin currents and
offer some of the clearest and most amazing diving in the world. Forget
the Barrier Reef, this is better and when you surface you can head back to
design furniture inspired by your experiences.

Geraldton
is home to many local breaks and within ˝ a days drive exist world-class breaks
that can challenge the most die hard surfer in size and power. When the sea breeze comes in, head back to craft that special piece of
furniture.
WINDSURFING: OCTOBER - JANUARY
Geraldton is internationally renowned for its
world-class windsurfing. Every day
during these months you are more than likely to get over 20 knots of consistent
sea breeze. While waiting for the
breeze to come in, fill in the hours constructively by making something to take
home from unique West Australian hardwoods.
WILDFLOWERS: AUGUST - OCTOBER
Take in the real
Australian outback and see the amazing diversity and colour of the local
wildflowers as they put on their annual spectacle. Inspired by the sights, come home and try your hand at crafting some
traditional bush furniture.
FISHING: ALL YEAR
You can’t miss.
The beach
offers tailor and mulloway while boat fishing is likely to turn up catches of
prize fish species such as dhufish, mackerel, snapper and groper. Geraldton is also home to the largest rock lobster fishery in the world.
These tasty locals can be caught through diving or with pots.
